WOLVERINE to MACLAREN & BACK
December 18, 2009: it's Official as of today! The Gin Gin 200 will start/end at
Wolverine Lodge this year.
8:00am Mandatory Rookie Mtg.
8:30am All Mushers meeting
A rookie is defined as someone who has not run a 1,000 mile event or the Gin Gin 200.

The GIN GIN 200 is a 200
mile race from Wolverine Lodge to Maclaren River Lodge and back.
There
is a women’s division and a men’s
division.Mass start!
Attention Mushers:
The new starting date for the Gin Gin 200 has been rescheduled for Dec. 28th, 2009 & rerouted- Our checkpoint, Maclaren River Lodge has been booked for their New Years Eve party, 40 some snow machines plus a firework display party. As a race organization, we have discussed all of our options and considered all the safety factors involved---and we feel this is the next best thing we can do without having to do a route change.
Please note the Taiga 300 date changes as well. The new Taiga 300 starting date will take place on Feb. 18th 2010, starting and ending at Wolverine Lodge.
Any questions or concerns you may have, please feel free to contact us by email or leave a message on our cell. We are in the middle of a move with the kennel from our Maclaren cabins to our home in Paxson, so if we don’t get right back to you, we will as soon as we can.
If you want to withdraw due to the date change please let us know within one week of this notice. Thanks for your understanding and sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Gin Gin 200 Sign Up: Entries will be accepted until Dec. 28th, 2009 - 9:00 am.
Refunds: If you need to withdraw before race day, you will receive 50% back before Nov. 1st, 25% back before Dec 1st. No refunds will be made after Dec. 1st, 2009.
Drivers
Meeting: The driver’s
meeting will be held at 8:00 am. Dec.
28th at Wolverine Lodge.
Vet Check: Dec 28th, 8:30 am
Gin Gin Race
Starts:
The women’s race start will be
at 11 am. Mass start The men’s race to start
one hour later at 12:00 pm mass Start.
Gin Gin 200 Awards:
Awards ceremony will be held at the finish at the Wolverine Lodge
Who
was Gin Gin?
The Gin Gin 200 is named after a remarkable dog who
dominated a dog kennel for over 10 years. She was an
inspiration both on the trail and in the dog yard. She
was a dog with unswerving loyalty and stubbornness.
She did not know” quit”. Her ability, drive
and attitude should serve as an example to dog drivers
everywhere.
