Living in Fox, Alaska. Cain Carter, 18, has several mid distance sled dog races under his belt already. Cain is the step son to Lance Mackey.

He ran his first Jr. Iditarod in 2006 placing 14th, in 2007 he ran the Jr. Cantwell Classic placing 4th, the 2007 Jr. Iditarod placing 13th and in February of 2008 he completed his 3rd Jr. Iditarod placing 2nd. He placed 1st in his fourth & final Junior Iditarod February 28th, 2009.

Cain became interested in mushing from watching and helping Lance train the "Comeback Kennel, Inc".

Cain is in 12th grade at Lathrop High School and says he enjoys skate boarding, listening to music, running dogs and riding a dirt bike. His plan is to run the Iditarod. He says he will continue mushing after he finishes high school while pursuing a college education.
